Today, Zendesk announced the appointment of Julie Swinney as Chief Financial Officer. She joined Zendesk in October 2021 as Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategy and has been serving as the company’s acting CFO since November 2022. Julie was previously at Intel for over 25 years, including serving as CFO of the cloud and enterprise data center business, leading corporate planning, strategy and reporting, and overseeing a portfolio of startup software and services businesses.

Since announcing the completion of its acquisition by an investor group led by Hellman & Friedman and Permira in November 2022, Zendesk is on a path to profitably scale and grow its business. In her role as acting CFO, Julie has helped lead Zendesk through a significant transformation. As she assumes the role of CFO permanently, she will continue to focus on supporting the company’s ability to create and capture value for its customers and employees, building a sustainable cost structure and helping critical business functions maximize productivity.

“Julie has already had an incredible impact at Zendesk. Her knowledge, experience and expertise are exactly what we need to support our investments in truly innovative solutions for our customers that result in durable, profitable growth and help us achieve our long-term financial ambitions,” said Tom Eggemeier, interim CEO of Zendesk.

“As the leader in CX, we are operating from a position of strength and have a tremendous opportunity in front of us,” said Swinney. “We will continue to invest in the things that make our products indispensable to our customers. At the same time, we will be disciplined about our growth to ensure we can consistently deliver value to our customers and investors, fully support our employees’ career ambitions, and give back to our communities.”
